Every recruiting cycle you have a wish list and a good idea of the one Quarterback that you want to pursue the hardest. Last season, that Quarterback was Dante Moore who they had on campus several times. Once Penn State fell out of the running, they quickly transitioned and flipped Jaxon Smolik.
In the 2022 recruiting cycle, Penn State essentially hit the jackpot. They signed the two recruits that they target as being priorities with Drew Allar and Beau Pribula. Both of them look like they will have a role in the offense in 2023.
For the 2024 recruiting cycle, Quarterback Michael Van Buren is the top priority. Van Buren is currently ranked as the 12th-best Quarterback in the nation. The Maryland native is being heavily recruited by Ohio State, Oregon, Oklahoma, Maryland, and Virginia Tech.
Van Buren has set a date to visit Penn State again in June. The recruitment for Van Buren will most likely be wrapped up before he starts his senior season at St. Frances. Penn State is most likely looking for two Quarterbacks in this cycle with Van Buren being the crown jewel.
