The early signing period is quickly approaching, so where is Penn State Football’s prized 2022 recruiting class ranked?

With the early signing period only hours away, let’s check in on James Franklin‘s prized recruiting class and see how Penn State Football’s haul currently stack up in the nation.

All information is based on the latest 247 rankings.

Penn State Football 2022 Recruiting Class

Current Rank: No. 6 nationally
Recruits: 25
5-star: 2
4-star: 14
3-star: 9

The crown jewels of the 2022 class are undoubtedly quarterback Drew Allar (5-star – No. 3 overall player – No. 1 QB) and running back Nick Singleton (5-star – No. 20 overall player – No. 1 RB). Allar would potentially be the 9th highest recruit ever to sign with Penn State, and Singleton would be the 22nd highest.

But, this is a deep class which also includes three additional players ranked inside the top 150.

Wide receiver Kaden Saunders (4-star – No. 87 overall player – No. 13 wide receiver), defensive lineman Dan Dennis-Sutton (4-star – No. 94 overall player – No. 12 DL), and offensive lineman Drew Shelton (4-star – No. 145 overall player – No. 15 OT) round out the top of the class.

The 2022 group is going to add some much needed depth to the offensive line (two 4-star and two 3-star), defensive line (three 4-star and one 3-star), linebacker (one 4-star and one 3-star), and secondary (three 4-star and one 3-star).

Depending on how things shake out on signing day, Penn State Football could possibly drop a spot or two in the overall rankings.

Mack Brown may

have his bag men working overtime

snag a couple of late commitments at UNC and Khaki Pants McHarbaugh is still considered in the running for some highly ranked targets.

In any case, the 2022 Penn State Football recruiting class will still finish in the top 10 nationally and hopefully a handful of these talented players can make an impact next fall.
