What it will take for Penn State Football to beat the Wildcats of Villanova in a battle for commonwealth supremecy (let’s be honest, Villanova probably could beat Pitt).

There is one simple key for both Penn State Football and Villanova to win Saturday’s noon kickoff, and we will look at those key’s in this week’s “We Win If, They Win If” column.

In last week’s column, we said Auburn’s QB Bo Nix had to throw for 225 + yards for Auburn to win.  He finished with only 185 yards passing and thus, another victory for Victory Bell Rings, moving to 3-0 on the year (despite PSU not getting any sacks on Nix).

Moving on, here are Villanova and Penn State Football’s biggest keys to victory

Villanova Wins If …

Third-year starter Daniel Smith can handle the step up in competition and finish with a QB Rating of 175.00 or higher.

Smith has met that threshold once already this year (in a 55-3 route vs Patriot League foe Bucknell) and has played pretty well this year.

But, Penn State Football is not Bucknell, Lehigh or Richmond. Smith will be facing the best secondary he’s seen in his career, and will need to perform at frankly an elite level for the Wildcats to have a shot at an all time upset.
