Izaiah Brockington announced he is heading to Iowa State, on a day that FoxSports trolled Penn State Basketball

Izaiah Brockington, who had previously committed to Micah Shrewsberry, before changing his mind and reentering the Transfer Portal, announced his new home in Ames, Iowa.

The Philadelphia native (Arch Bishop Ryan HS) who initially started at St. Bonaventure played the last two years at Penn State. Last year, Brockington averaged 29.7 minutes a game, scoring 12.6 points and pulling down 4.9 rebounds.  He shot a respectable 43.0% from the field, an excellent 84.1% from the stripe but a paltry 27.9% from three.

Brockington was one of the first players to announce he was going to come back and play for Shrewsberry but then oddly changed his mind last week (after Penn State Basketball signed Bookie Cornwall and Jalen Pickett).

Iowa State struggled last year but lost their leading scorer, a name spoken with some disdain in these parts, Rasir Bolton, who transferred to Gonzaga.  We wish Izaiah the best with the Cyclones in 2021-2022.

Brockington’s new home wasn’t the only Penn State Basketball news of the day.  Fox College Hoops (@CBBonFOX) tweeted out the 2021 Top Recruit by School for the Big Ten and, well, it’s embarrassing for the Nittany Lions:

The graphic is not technically accurate, as Penn State does have one singular 2021 recruit signed, Elijah Hutchins-Everett, who Pat Chambers initially recruited.

Hutchins-Everett decommitted after Chambers was fired, but then recommitted a month ago.

But still, the 644,700 followers of Fox College Hoops had a nice laugh at the current state of Penn State Basketballrecruiting.  Remember, Penn State had a four star signed by Chambers (Taquan Woodley, a PF too, talk about a position of need…) along with three star Houston Mallette.
