Patrick Kelly announced his new home, leaving Penn State Basketball behind, and traveling east of State College to New York City for the Fordham Rams.

Kelly made the announcement on twitter today.  Like Jamari Wheeler, Trent Buttrick and Myreon Jones, he went out of his way to thank now-fired Head Coach Pat Chambers, stating, “I would like to thank Coach Chambers and the staff, the whole Penn State community and my teammates for an unforgettable 2 years.  I am so grateful for the brotherhood that will be for a lifetime.  There will always be blue and white in my heart.”

The Raleigh, North Carolina native who played high school ball at famed IMG Academy struggled to see the floor in his time for the

pink and black.

Kelly redshirtted in the 2019-2020 season and played in just five games this year, averaging 2.2 minutes.  He didn’t score in his time in Happy Valley.  Kelly was a three star recruit who committed to Pat Chambers back in 2018.

Fordham, which recently hired the Villanova Wildcast assistant Kyle Neptune as their new head coach, was rumored to be kicking the tires on both Pat Chambers and Jim Ferry, who has recently been linked with the Central Connecticut State opening.  Fordham only won two games last season, finishing 2-12 overall, 2-11 in the Atlantic Ten.

Micah Shrewsberry is now 1-4 on keeping players in the transfer portal, keeping Brockington and losing Jones, Wheeler, Buttrick and now Patrick Kelly.  Two players remain in the portal (John Harrar and Seth Lundy.)  We wish Kelly the best of luck at his new college.
