Penn State Football: Position grades at midseason
Wide Receivers
Grade: A-
The wide receiver room was by far the position group with the most questions heading into 2020, and thus far has been the Nittany Lions’ strongest position group.
Junior Jahan Dotson has been everything this staff could have asked for and then some, as he is third in the Big Ten in receiving yards, hauling in 23 passed for 388 yards and five touchdowns. Dotson may have even seen his draft stock improve after torching Ohio State and cornerback Sean Wade in there primetime matchup for 144 yards and three touchdowns.
Parker Washington provides optimism moving forward and into 2021 as he has stepped in and has played like anything but a true freshman for Penn State. Washington has been the other go-to target beside Dotson, tallying up 19 receptions for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
Ideally, Franklin and staff would like to see a little bit more out of youngsters Lambert-Smith or Sullivan-Brown, but this group has been far from the reason the Nittany Lions are winless.
