Penn State football is hosting yet another Class of 2027 recruit for a spring visit. Four-star quarterback Peter Bourque announced on Sunday that he'll be back in Happy Valley on Wednesday.
Penn State target 4-star WR makes promising statement in favor of the Nittany Lions
Bourque is one of the Nittany Lions' top visitors this spring and he's coming back to campus when head coach Matt Campbell is on a recruiting hot streak. The quarterback was previously committed to Michigan, but de-committed on Feb. 17.
Since then, Penn State, Georgia, and Virginia Tech emerged as frontrunners to land the recruit. The blue and white, specifically, were quickly favored out of the trio, though the Bulldogs continue applying competitive pressure. Bourque has a visit scheduled with Georgia in the near future.

Four-star quarterback Peter Bourque slated to visit Penn State during spring season
Bourque is a four-star recruit from the Class of 2027 ranked 81st nationally, sixth among quarterbacks, and first across Massachusetts prospects, per Rivals Industry Rankings. He is also ranked No. 76 overall across the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
So far, Penn State has five committed recruits in its class: cornerbacks Semajay Robinson, Zachary Gleason Jr., and Ka'ron Ceasar, defensive lineman Carter Blattner, and wide receiver Landon Blum.
Blum is currently the highest-ranked recruit at 214th nationally, but Bourque can change that. As a top 100 prospect, he can be a huge boost for Campbell's class, especially following Bourque's de-commitment from a fellow Big Ten school. Rivals has the Nittany Lions at a 69.6 percent chance at landing the quarterback's commitment.
Wednesday is an opportunity for Campbell's pitch to shine. Culture and work ethic on and off the field have been standout attributes of the program for recruits who already observed different spring practice sessions.
In addition to that, quarterbacks Rocco Becht and Alex Manske being either limited or out for the spring, respectively, allows Bourque to see the depth of quarterback room and the work each individual player gets in at practice. Every player getting work in throughout practice was another thing that resonated well with visiting recruits so far in the spring season, and Bourque is sure to see that with Campbell's quarterbacks.
