Penn State football head coach Matt Campbell has instilled a different culture in Happy Valley, one resonating well with his players, both returning Nittany Lions and transfers.

On Thursday, April 2, Campbell announced another change to Penn State's regime; this one regarding the Blue-White Game.

When discussing what this finale to the spring season looks like prior to the first practice, Campbell made it known that things will be different. The Nittany Lions typically held a scrimmage at Beaver Stadium. For the 2026 spring season, they will hold a Blue-White Practice instead.

"We'll evaluate exactly what that 15th practice looks like," Campbell told media on Thursday, as reported by 247Sports. "I think you'll get some version of practice. Hopefully we can get some scrimmaging where we get some live reps in practice and be able to showcase that."

This is the final workout of the spring, which is scheduled for April 25 at Beaver Stadium. Campbell revealed it begins at 1 p.m. EST. The open practice will also not be televised.

The Blue-White Practice is also the first time students and fans get to see what Penn State's new team looks like. It's also a perfect time for them to see faces that might not necessarily see the field too much during the 2026 regular season due to players currently recovering from injuries or surgeries, like quarterback Rocco Becht and linebacker Tony Rojas.

"It's critical for our players to be in that stadium and to feel what that fan base feels like and looks like and what Beaver Stadium looks like, replicating that environment to the best of our ability before we step in and play a game next fall," Campbell added in addition to prioritizing fans seeing the new Penn State squad.

Admission to the open practice is free, according to Mark Brennan of 247Sports. Those with season parking passes will have a pass for April 25 as well. Others can park in general and preferred lots for $20 or $30, respectively.
