Penn State Football: Who are the Program’s Best Recruiters?
3. WR Coach Taylor Stubblefield
Taylor Stubblefield is one of the best wide receivers to ever play college ball. He was a consensus All-American in 2004 and for seven years held the college receptions record with 325.
Stubblefield is now transforming from a great college player to a great college coach.
He’s helped develop the likes of Jahan Dotson and Parker Washington and is doing some great work on the recruiting trail.
Stubblefield’s work on the recruiting trail started in 2020 when he landed 2022 recruit Kaden Saunders. A month or so later, Stubblefield paired the 4-star with another 4-star in Anthony Ivey.
The before signing day for the 2021 class, Stubblefield went down to Alabama and flipped Duke commit Harrison Wallace. He also helped the Nittany Lions land one of the best athletes in the country in Lonnie White Jr., but White was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and never enrolled at Penn State.
Stubblefield rounded out his 2022 haul with two speedy 3-stars in Omari Evans and Tyler Johnson.
Penn State’s 2023 wide receiver haul consists of 4-star Ejani Shakir as of right now, but Stubblefield will look to add to that.
Also need to give props to Stubblefield for the role he likely played in helping land transfer wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley.
