Recruiting Implications

Penn State Football has expanded its recruiting footprint ever since James Franklin became head coach. That means going into SEC country and fighting for recruits. With that said, there are a few recruits considering both Penn State Football and Auburn.

QB Jaden Rashada

Jaden Rashada is one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2023 recruiting class. The highly sought-after recruit has offers from both Penn State and Auburn. Rashada has not visited Auburn yet but, it is one of the schools in the mix. Penn State has hosted Rashada twice. Once for the White Out game against Auburn. The other was one of Penn States’ Junior days.

Auburn is looking for a quarterback for the future. Penn State Football is trying to build one of the most talented quarterback rooms in the nation. If it comes down to these two schools, the head coaching situation will be a deciding factor.

OT Koby Keenum

Koby Keenum is currently a three-star recruit from Auburn’s home state Alabama. Keenum has visited just two schools more than once, Penn State and Auburn. Koby watched both teams play in Happy Valley for the White Out and came away impressed with the Penn State program. The talented offensive tackle has visited Auburn three times and would be Keenum’s hometown option.

The controversy and uncertainty at Auburn may be enough to sway Keenum’s decision to leave home. Keenum would add to an already impressive offensive line haul at Penn State.
