2. The return to normalcy

2020 was anything but normal for all of us, sports included.

We turned on the television each week to an empty beaver Stadium sans the cardboard cutouts. No white out game, no student section, no zombie nation.

On September 18th, we returned to normalcy for a few hours in State College, and that normalcy was the renewal of the annual White Out game at Beaver Stadium when the Nittany Lions played host to the Auburn Tigers.

The rest of the moments on this list are individual plays but this one stands true as a moment to itself, when 110,000 strong, all clad in white, got back together on a fall night.

This game was everything right about college football. A primetime nonconference clash between two bluebloods, Big Ten vs SEC, two classic uniforms, two ranked teams in the greatest environment in the sport.

It just simply doesn’t get better, and when you take into account what we have all been through the year prior, it makes this year’s white out that much more special.
