Penn StateWrestling  kicked off the season by taking part in the Journeymen Duals on November 13th in Manheim, PA. The tri dual featured Sacred Heart and Oregon State, and the Nittany Lions did what they do best in kicking butt and taking names later.

The Lions rolled in both duals as they defeated Sacred Heart 47-3 and Oregon State 32-7.

Penn State Wrestling then hosted Army in a home dual on November 18th, which was the first time the Nittany Lions wrestled in front of fans in Rec Hall in nearly two years. Penn State took home the “W” against Army, 32-7, to move their dual record to a perfect 3-0 so far this season.

Nittany Lion fans knew there were going to be some shakeups in the lineup this season and that’s exactly what we’ve seen.

Baylor Shunk (125), Joey Blumer (157), Terrell Barraclough (157), Creighton Edsell (165), and Max Dean (197) are all new faces to the lineup when compared to last year. While I’m confident Dean has locked down the spot at 197, the rest of the weights could be up for grabs as the season goes along.

Does Alex Facundo or Joe Lee factor into either 157 or 165? When will Penn State Wrestling see Drew Hildenbrandt at 125? These are all questions which will be answered in good time and by people WAY more qualified than me.

Next up for the Nittany Lions is a trip to Penn for an away dual on December 5th.
