Penn State Football’s secondary shuts down star wide receiver Justin Hall

Ball State wide receiver Justin Hall is the active leader in the FBS in receptions with 265 to go with almost 3,000 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.

Hall kicked off the 2021 season with a bang, catching eight passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns against Western Illinois. The five-foot-nine senior could be the type pf player who keeps the Cardinals in the game Saturday, and will undoubtedly be the focus of the Nittany Lions secondary.

Last week the Penn State Football defense only allowed 185 passing yards and intercepted Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz twice in the second half. Coming into the season the secondary was seen as a strong point of this team, and they backed that up through week one.

The Nittany Lions like to rotate cornerbacks but it will mostly be the responsibility of Joey Porter Jr and Tariq Castro-Fields to hold Hall down in the passing game.

Our prediction is the Penn State Football defense locks down Hall to the tune of only five catches, for 46 yards and no scores, forcing the Cardinals to find someone else to beat them.
