Takeaway #2 – Arnold Ebiketie’s Impact

Arnold Ebiketie was listed as one of the nation’s top impact transfers when he came over from Temple. He was able to live up to that hype today in Madison.

Right out of the gate, Ebiketie was in the Badger’s backfield wreaking havoc. He was in on a lot of tackles around the line of scrimmage, as well as getting consistent pressure on Graham Mertz.

Ebiketie went down with an apparent injury late in the first half, but returned later in the second half. During the time he was out, it also showed how impactful he was, because Wisconsin moved the ball well to start the second half.

Thankfully, he returned and came up big in the fourth quarter and forced Mertz into an intentional grounding penalty which turned out to be huge for Penn State.

Lastly, Ebiketie’s biggest play of the day was undoubtedly when he went airborne to block a Wisconsin field goal attempt in the second quarter. Here is another look at that block:

Ebiketie finished with seven tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack. If he can continue to play the way he did today, this Penn State Football defense will be dominant all season long.
