7. Who Emerges as Tight End 1?

Since 2016, Penn State Football fans have been used to there being a clear number one tight end.

With Mike Gesicki in 2016 and 2017, and Pat Freiermuth since then.

The job is between Brenton Strange and Theo Johnson. Which one takes the field for the first drive week 1 against Wisconsin?

Regardless of who that is, which one (if any) begins to separate themselves throughout the season?

Maybe, neither one will emerge as a clear favorite over the other and Franklin will have to ride the hot hand. How often will offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich run a 12 personnel set where both of the tight ends would be on the field at the same time?
