3. Chris Godwin – 3rd round, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Chris Godwin was the lone Penn State Football player drafted in 2017, selected in the third round, 84th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Godwin played a major part in the programs resurgence in 2016 that saw them capture the Big Ten Title, and he went on to have a monster game in the Rose Bowl loss to USC, which really turned him on to NFL scouts.

Godwin, much like Allen Robinson was also franchise tagged this past offseason but should be in line for a big payday next year. In his career, the former Nittany Lion has 244 receptions, 3,540 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was named a second-team All-Pro in 2019 as well as a Pro Bowler.

His 2020 season did not live up to the hype of the 2019 season he put together personally, but he was a key contributor to the Bucs Super Bowl victory over Kansas City in Tampa in February. He caught 16 passes and a touchdown from Tom Brady in the post season run.
