Penn State Basketball received some good news Thursday when it comes to Seth Lundy’s future

Penn State Basketball’s Seth Lundy has withdrawn from the transfer portal, according to Portal Updates.

This is a big deal for new coach Micah Shrewsberry as Seth Lundy, the three/four star recruit out of Philadelphia, PA is the last of the Roman Catholic pipeline that Pat Chambers worked so hard to secure (following Shep Garner, Tony Carr, Nazeer Bostick and Lamar Stevens).

Lundy had an incredibly up and down 2020-2021 campaign, from his 32 point game vs VCU to his very cold stretch where he fell out of the starting line up (replaced by Myles Dread).  He finished the year averaging 23.8 minutes per game, where he scored 10.1 points, secured 4.2 rebounds and had .8 assists, .6 blocks and .7 steals.  He shot a rather poor 32% from three but excellent from the free throw line, at 81.3%.

Lundy is a player that Shrewsberry will rely on with the departures of Myreon Jones, Trent Buttrick and Jamari Wheeler.  He is likely slotted as a small forward although was asked to play more power forward for the small ball Lions lineup last year.  The Lions may be small again, with Lundy as just one of three forwards on the roster (along with Myles Dread and center Abdou Tsimbila).  Only John Harrar of the initial 7 Lions in the portal remains there after Brockington announced his return and Pat Kelly announced his departure.
