7. Maryland

Check this one under ‘revenge game’ for the Nittany Lions, after the Terps came into Beaver Stadium last season and for the most part embarrassed Penn State Football 35-19 in a game that was never even that close.

Penn State’s loss to their neighbors to the south came on the heels of a 59-0 rout by the Nittany Lions the year prior in a Friday night contest that was nationally televised and deemed a coming out party for Maryland, so you could say maybe Maryland owed them one.

What we do know  is that Maryland has a quarterback, and a good one in the form of Taulia Tagovailoa who had an impressive redshirt freshman campaign in 2020. He threw for 282 yards and three touchdowns in the win last season against the Nittany Lions.

This game comes the week prior to hosting Michigan, and traveling to Maryland could prove to be tricky as the Terps have put together a few solid recruiting classes and are starting to look the part of a Big Ten team lately.

Last season’s upset, however should have the Nittany Lions laser focused coming into this one.
