Offensive Line

Grade: C

With new offensive line coach Phil Trautwein in charge, there were high hopes for a unit that returned four starters form last season and had maybe the most depth at the position since Franklin arrived in State College.

To this point, though, the offensive line has been a disappointment, and has continued to hinder Penn State’s offense.

Penn State ranks eighth in the conference in rushing yards and has surrendered 15 sacks this season. In Saturday’s contest against Nebraska, with two plays left to try and tie the game, the line broke down and surrendered a sack on third and goal and pressure on fourth down that did not even allow Levis a real attempt to the end zone.

With redshirt freshman Caedan Wallace getting the start at right tackle Saturday that provides a silver lining to the lines issues, and a player Penn State football fans should be excited about going forward and into 2021.
