Brandon Smith (Linebacker)

A former 5-star recruit usually wouldn’t be considered a sleeper, but with all the attention Micah Parsons got a linebacker, the rest of the group flew under the radar. That will not be the case in 2020.

Smith is projected to start at the SAM this season, so he was starting regardless of what happened with Parsons. Now with Parsons gone, the sophomore has a chance to become the star of the group. At 6’3 237, Smith looks the part of a star linebacker in the Big Ten, he also adds the athleticism and physicality to go with it.

In eight games last year, Smith had 14 tackles, two of them for loss. Expect those numbers to significantly increase this season.
