Penn State football game-by-game predictions | Nittany Lions finally make College Football Playoff?
Ohio State at Penn State, Oct. 31, Kickoff time: TBD
There won’t be 111,000 screaming fans creating a deafening wall of sound at Beaver Stadium for this one, which was earmarked for Penn State’s annual whiteout, but the Nittany Lions might not even need that boost against Ohio State.
Head coach Ryan Day’s Buckeyes have National Championship aspirations, but Penn State football is the most formidable road block standing between Ohio State and its fourth appearance in the College Football Playoff.
Last season, at the Horseshoe, Penn State mounted a furious second half comeback, pulling to within 21-17 after scoring 17 unanswered points in under 4:00 in the third quarter before ultimately falling short 28-17.
This time around, Penn State’s defense is out for revenge, and the Nittany Lions might have even been done a favor by the Big Ten’s schedule makers.
Ohio State has only lost eight games since 2015, but two have come in the first three weeks of the season and one was to Penn State during the 2016 White Out.
The combination of Penn State seeking revenge for last season’s loss, and Ohio State’s possible slow start to the season could be the perfect recipe for a Nittany Lion upset and statement victory.
