Penn State at Indiana, Oct. 24, kickoff time: TBD

Indiana has been a thorn in the Nittany Lions’ side in recent seasons, playing Penn State tough but ultimately falling short in their upset bids.

In last fall’s meeting at Beaver Stadium, Indiana’s backup quarterback Michael Penix (who will be the Hoosiers’ starter this season) carved up the Nittany Lions for 371 passing yards as Penn State held on in a 34-27 nail-biter.

Penn State has been downright dominant in this series, winning 22 of the 23 meetings between the programs. But, Tom Allen always seems to have his team geared up to take on the heavyweights in the Big Ten Conference.

However, the talent gap between Franklin’s Nittany Lions and Allen’s Hoosiers seems as wide as ever.

Anything is possible, but this feels like a game where the more talented team will have a sizable edge given the lack of a true offseason program due to the COVID-19 pandemic canceling spring practices across the country.

Expect Journey Brown to launch his Heisman Trophy campaign, and the Nittany Lions’ defense to announce their presence in a big way.

Prediction: 26-16 WIN
