Maryland at Penn State, Beaver Stadium, Nov. 7, Kickoff time: TBD

Remember the last time these teams met?

That was fun.

You might recall, Maryland canceled afternoon and evening classes to free up campus for a Friday night blackout against the Nittany Lions. That didn’t deter Nittany Nation from showing out, with Penn State becoming the first road team to take home the Taco Bell Student Section of The Week award as PSU made a statement of their own in a 59-0 shutout.

Penn State leads the all-time series 40-2-1, and the Terrapins haven’t scored a touchdown against the Nittany Lions since 2016. Maryland’s lone win over Penn State since 1962 came during the peak of the NCAA sanctions in the fallout of the Jerry Sandusky scandal, a 20-19 overtime win at Beaver Stadium.

Why would this season, with the meeting in Happy Valley be any different than last year’s game?

Despite Maryland head coach Mike Locksley’s best efforts to turn this into a regional rivalry, the talent just isn’t there for the Terrapins to be all that competitive against the Nittany Lions.

Not only will Penn State prevail, but another shutout could be in order.

Prediction: 37-6 Win
