Running Backs

This was the best performance by the Penn State rushing attack all season long, without question. Akeel Lynch and Bill Belton were both phenomenal in this one, both getting it done in different ways.

Lynch ran his way for 130 yards on just 18 carries, adding in a touchdown as well. Belton wasn’t as effective, but that’s just a testament as to how good Lynch was. Belton tossed in 92 yards for the Lions and found his way into the end zone.

The backs were quick, decisive and put together the best effort a year. Instead of working east and west, Belton got up field and made cuts for extra yards, while Lynch powered his way through the defense and wore them down until he was able to break out for a few big gains.
