Penn State’s new offense with Andy Kotelnicki and a revived Drew Allar was electric in the first half, leading the Nittany Lions to a 20-6 lead over West Virginia at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown West Virginia. Well, after that first half of play, the sky above Milan Puskar has become electrified as well.

Penn State vs. West Virginia in Week 1 has been temporarily postponed after storms have rolled into the Morgantown area. It is unclear when the Nittany Lions and Mountaineers will return to play in the second half.

Reports coming from the stadium have indicated that the weather does not look promising and the delay could be extended.

Fans in Milan Puskar are being asked to seek shelter temporarily until the storms pass through Morgantown. Forecasts early in the week indicated that the storms were expected to hit prior to kickoff, but they waited until Penn State took a commanding halftime lead to keep the red-hot Nittany Lions offense off the field for an extended period.

It is still not known when the game will resume.

UPDATE: Teams returning to the field

Penn State and West Virginia resumed play at 4:23 p.m. ET after a lengthy delay.
