Since Penn State’s loss to Ohio State, the directive has been simple for James Franklin’s team: win out and you’re in the 12-team College Football Playoff. After beating Washington and Purdue convincingly in the past two weeks, the Nittany Lions have just two games left to get to 11-1, a road trip to Minnesota in Week 13, and the regular season finale at home against Maryland.

For this week’s trip to play PJ Fleck’s Golden Gophers, Penn State is a significant favorite, though may be on upset alert much more than last week’s trip to West Lafayette, Indiana. At 6-4, Minnesota is a middling, but bowl eligible, program. After early season losses to North Carolina, Iowa, and Michigan, transfer quarterback Max Brosmer found his footing to rip off four-straight victories. Then, before Minnesota’s Week 12 bye, the Golden Gophers tripped up in New Jersey with a 26-19 loss to Rutgers, which killed the team’s momentum.

Fleck could earn a season-defining win on Saturday with an upset of Penn State, but the Nittany Lions look poised to finish out the season strong. Here’s how you can watch this Big Ten matchup on CBS in Week 13.
