Penn State football's recruitment class of 2026 tumbled to 16th in the country with an unfortunate series of misses and flips. One miss, Immanuel Iheanacho, especially stung as the Nittany Lions were hoping to have a five-star recruit headlining the class.
The five-star plus interior offensive lineman and No. 8 recruit in the country announced his commitment to Oregon on July 3. He made his decision about one month ahead of schedule and despite Penn State having a good chance to land the rising senior, the Ducks kept themselves on top when they needed it most.
That doesn't mean the Nittany Lions sat back and sulked in the miss. On the contrary, their mission now is to flip his commitment and recruit Iheanacho hard. According to On3's Chad Simmons, the highly coveted recruit scheduled a game-day visit to Penn State this fall.
Immanuel Iheanacho schedules fall game-day visit to Penn State after Oregon commitment
Iheanacho will visit LSU and Maryland as well as the Nittany Lions in the fall. Iheanacho will return to Oregon for games against Wisconsin and USC.
Scheduling visits, especially when the Ducks fought ardently to land his commitment, may be concerning for the them. Penn State fans shouldn't start celebrating just yet, though. This doesn't mean a flip is en route, and his response to the update of his upcoming visits brought down the worries Oregon fans.
“I’m overly locked in with the [D]ucks," Iheanacho reportedly said. "I just would think I would be doing myself a disservice to not go.”

However, while he scheduled a visit to LSU on Sept. 13 when it faces Florida, his Penn State appearance will be at this season's White Out game against Oregon on Sept. 27. It's a high-stakes contest for both teams, and this Week 5 matchup is predicted to hand the Ducks their first loss of the season as they enter an intimidating Beaver Stadium environment.
Penn State, for sure, is not finished recruiting the elite offensive tackle, and at one point, they had an intriguing pitch regarding proximity to home. However, a major reason Iheanacho chose Oregon was due to the likelihood of him getting playing time early on and roster talent. The White Out game will be a chance for the Nittany Lions to change his mind. If he sees the offensive line get the best of the Ducks, Iheanacho might just see his future in blue and white instead of green and yellow the closer Signing Day approaches.
