Penn State football sustained its first Class of 2027 flip with three-star cornerback Semajay Robinson. Robinson was on an official visit on June 5-7 and suddenly flipped his commitment to Virginia. Now, the Nittany Lions have another Virginia school on their tail for a second cornerback.

Three-star Zachary Gleason Jr. was also on campus over the weekend. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native committed to Penn State just a few days after Robinson on March 31.

Gleason Jr. is ranked No. 760 nationally, No. 75 among cornerbacks, and No. 20 among recruits from Pennsylvania, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. In 2025, he totaled 43 tackles (28 solo, 15 assists), four tackles for loss, three interceptions, one forced fumble, and one sack.

Before his visit with the Nittany Lions, which was his second of two official visits in his calendar, Gleason Jr. was at West Virginia. With both official visits checked off, the Mountaineers are rising as a flip contender for the cornerback.

Three-star cornerback Zachary Gleason Jr. is on the brink of flipping his commitment from Penn State to West Virginia

Happy Valley United, the official Penn State NIL Collective, posted an update on Gleason Jr.'s commitment. According to the post, it states that he was seeking better offers than the one head coach Matt Campbell and Co. provided and that West Virginia is the program that did just that.

The post also stated that it would not be surprising to see Gleason Jr. flip his commitment within the next day and concluded with, "Regardless I don't think Gleason [Jr.] will play for Penn State."

Only adding fuel to the fire, a new 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction came in on June 10. National recruiting analyst Brian Dohn submitted his prediction for the Mountaineers to flip Gleason Jr. and it seems that it's only a short matter of time before that comes true.

If this comes to fruition, the Nittany Lions would have lost two cornerbacks in a matter of three days with Gleason Jr. following in Robinson's footsteps.

At the start of Campbell's reruitment process, associate head coach/cornerbacks coach Terry Smith was a huge impact, especially at recruiting cornerbacks. However, the relationships built between these players and the staff aren't holding up against more enticing offers around the country.

The remaining two commits following Gleason Jr.'s flip would be four-star Kei'Shjuan Telfair and three-star Ka'ron Ceasar.

Penn State doesn't have many options left beyond his two commits. The only other cornerback scheduled to visit Happy Valley is three-star Dhillon McGee. Especially if Gleason Jr. flips his commitment, Campbell can't go empty handed on McGee's recruitment.
