Penn State is due for a new coach at the helm after over a decade under former head coach James Franklin in Happy Valley.
Now, the Nittany Lions (3-5, 0-5 Big Ten) are led by interim coach Terry Smith. While this signals a lost season, it also points to a new era for the blue and white. With a new face soon to take over, speculation is at an all-time high searching for who is best suited for the position.
While nothing is concrete about the rumors for the gig, Penn State fan entered an all-out desperation and craze in the debate over who should get the job. There is an air of desperation, especially as candidates get taken off the list. Likewise, as new jobs open, like LSU or Florida, it feels like a race to many fans to get the best guy as soon as possible before others snatch them away.
Early Thursday Morning, a Penn State-branded moving truck was seen very far from the Commonwealth, only furthering the dialogue and rumors.

Current University of Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm led his alma mater to a strong 7-1 season so far in 2025, further enhancing his reputation as a top coaching candidate.
This truck meant more to the Nittany Lions. It fueled speculation that Brohm's long-time candidacy for the position since firing Franklin is true.
The sighting of a Penn State truck just 40 minutes from Louisville's campus increased fan interest, recalling past instances when trucks were seen moving Franklin to Pennsylvania as he transitioned to Penn State.
It wasn't just for head coaches that the Nittany Lions pulled this move. When Penn State poached safeties coach Anthony Poindexter from Purdue in 2021, the trucks were back on the road.
Me and @KentuckyNet have heard that the Penn State football truck was in Louisville to sway Jeff Brohm to the job at Penn State. Jeff Brohm is a candidate at Penn State, LSU, and Florida.

With these noted truths, many jumped to conclusions about what the truck's purpose could be before anything concrete surfaced. However, the reason slowly unveils as more and more sources reveal via social media.

An established company would generally want to keep something important like this confidential. It might claim this even if it were true that the trucks were for Brohm.
Given the highly media-driven world where everything is published and discussed, it's unlikely that Penn State would send trucks bearing its branding to Bohm. The company's claims are more than likely valid.
This is hilarious (and comforting, of course) https://t.co/p7m3ugdy9c

Unsurprisingly, fans had an overreaction to the original photos of the truck posted online. Rumors will only intensify as the season goes on, and become even more inflated after the regular season and postseason if candidates remain in the College Football Playoff.
Until the Nittany Lions hire their next head coach, fans will grasp at any and all straws to figure out who is taking over in Happy Valley.
