A late surprise addition to the 2025 class for the Penn State Nittanly Lions? Yup, that's exactly what's going on, as EDGE Daniel Jennings will be making his way to campus this summer in a move that has a lot of people excited out there.

That's right, Jennings has made the call to reclassify from 2026 to 2025. According to Steve Wiltfong, the decision has been made and the 6-2, 220-pounder will be making his way to campus this summer to get a headstart on his college career. Jennings making the move a year early sure is exciting:

Penn State EDGE commit Daniel Jennings has reclassified to the 2025 class

Jennings was a SUPER early pledge for James Franklin, committing to the Nittany Lions in July 2024. Originally, the earliest he was going to be able to make things official with Penn State was going to be this December during the Early Signing Period.

However, with him now making the move to '25, he'll indeed be ready to make plays for new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles far earlier than anyone of us could have imagined. Jennings shut down his recruitment quite early, picking Penn State over West Virginia, Illinois and UNLV.

Now that Jennings is in the fold for next season, he's yet another pass-rusher the Nittany Lions will be ready to feature for the new campaign. Previously, high school studs Chaz Coleman and Cortez Harris were announced by the program, while transfers Owen Wafle and Enai White are also ready to make noise this fall.

With Knowles taking over the defense too, things are really looking up for the Nittany Lions. While it might take some time for Jennings to develop and get adjusted to Big Ten play, this latest news on him has a lot of people talking and for good reason. He may be a youngster, but he'll be ready to do what Franklin and Knowles ask of him moving forward.
