The Nittany Lions are expected to be down two guards when the Transfer Portal opens Tuesday, April 7. Freshman Melih Tunca and redshirt junior Freddie Dilione V announced their intentions on leaving the program via the portal.

Penn State basketball retains forward Ivan Juric for 2026-27 season

In the midst of this unfortunate news, though, was the announcement that Juric will return in 2026-27. The rising sophomore averaged 10.2 points per game in his first collegiate season. He was 57.7 percent from the field, 28.3 percent behind the arc, and 66.1 percent from the free throw line. He totaled 104 defensive rebounds, 54 offensive rebounds, 24 assists, 12 steals, and seven blocks in 2025-26.

Juric made a case for himself to be a starter on the court for the Nittany Lions as a freshman, making him a key retention on the roster for head coach Mike Rhoades as he seeks out new pieces and ways to rebuild Penn State's program.

He comes to Happy Valley after spending the last three seasons playing professionally abroad and was a returning face to the French U21 team roster from 2021-24, according to Will Horstman of The Daily Collegian
