Not only does CFB 26 have six Nittany Lions in the Top 100 Players, the video game has Drew Allar as one of the highest rated quarterbacks in this edition. Penn State football quarterback Drew Allar is a top five QB in CFB 26
In the 2024-25 season, Allar had a 66.5 completion percentage off 262 completed passes out of 394. He threw for 3,327 yards and 24 touchdowns. Heading into his final NCAA season, the quarterback is in the discussion for the Heisman Trophy. His leap from sophomore to junior year is a prelude for what's in store for 2025-26, especially given the sour finale against Notre Dame.
Allar's junior campaign was inconsistent. He had eight interceptions as a junior, three of which came at very inopportune times. Against Oregon in the 2024 Big Ten Championship Game, the Nittany Lion threw two interceptions. Allar made an untimely mistake again against Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl. Penn State lost both of those games.
Heading into the upcoming season, Allar's focus is to keep improving and minimize mistakes. Head coach James Franklin made it clear that the quarterback has a hard To-Do list.
“He needs to take another step when it comes to his mobility. He needs to take another step when it comes to his leadership," Franklin said in the spring. "He needs to take another step in terms of his completion percentage. Needs to take another step in terms of his touchdown-interception ratio."
Like Allar, the No. 1 rated quarterback in CFB 26 made a leap in 2024-25. Klubnik received a 92 overall rating after his jump from freshman to sophomore year. He threw for 3,639 yards and 36 touchdowns. Out of 486 passing attempts, 308 were completed for a 63.4 average percentage. Nussmeier had a huge first season as a starter with 4,052 passing yards and 29 touchdowns. He had a 64.2 completion percentage from 337 completed passes out of 525 attempts.
Klubnik and Nussmeier are expected to be first round draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft alongside Allar, but recent mock draft predictions have these two quarterbacks going before the Nittany Lion if they declare for the draft.
The other quarterbacks at the top of CFB 26's list are Arizona's Sam Leavitt, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers, Oklahoma's John Mateer, and Miami's Carson Beck. All four received a 91 overall rating.
Penn State's other Top 100 Players are A.J. Harris, Vega Ioane, Dani-Dennis Sutton, Kaytron Allen, and Nicholas Singleton. Singleton is the highest-rated Nittany Lion, 93 overall. The team as a whole made the Top 25 Offense, Top 25 Defense, and Top 25 Overall lists. Beaver Stadium also earned some recognition as the second toughest place to play.
