On May 1, four-star wide receiver Jamir Dean committed to Penn State football, but his loyalty didn't last very long. After committing, Georgia swooped in with an offer just five days later and got an official visit down in the books.
Over the first weekend of official visit season, Dean will be in Athens, Ga. and is his only stop other than Happy Valley.
Dean is the No. 383 recruit nationally and No. 50 wide receiver, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He's also the No. 16 recruit out of Tennessee. Rivals Industry rankings lists him at No. 317 nationally, No. 46 at wideout, and No. 13 from his home state. In mid-May, Dean was promoted from a three-star prospect to a four-star.
Dean is scheduled to be at Penn State for an official visit on June 5-7.

Four-star wide receiver Jamir Dean takes official visit to Georgia after Penn State commitment
The Nittany Lions' Class of 2027 only has two wide receivers committed, including Dean. Four-star Landon Blum committed about a month earlier on April 4. However, the immediate interest in the Bulldogs is something head coach Matt Campbell must be wary about.
The official visit is already significant to keep track of, but Dean's interest in the SEC program doesn't stop there. According to Chad Simmons of Rivals, the rising high school senior was at Georgia just days before his official visit. Simmons reported that Dean spent time with the Bulldogs late Wednesday into early Thursday and returned for his May 29-31 official visit on Friday.
More on that here.

He was on campus first late Wednesday and the first part of Thursday. Now the flip target is back this weekend for an official visit.

Dean only took one unofficial visit to Penn State on April 23 before his commitment just eight days later. The time he's spending in Athens isn't something to gloss over whether he's committed to the Nittany Lions or not.
Georgia doesn't have a Class of 2027 wide receiver committed yet, whereas the blue and white have Blum who is another four-star prospect. The Bulldogs also stole a skill player from the Nittany Lions previously with five-star running back Kemon Spell. Spell was high on Penn State once Campbell hit the ground running with recruitment, but ultimately pivoted to the SEC. Dean might be on the same path if Campbell isn't careful.
With Dean slated to visit Campbell and the Nittany Lions immediately after Georgia, though, Penn State can redeem itself. The outcomes of the first weekend of official visits can be offset, especially considering Dean already pledged his verbal loyalty to the Big Ten program initially.
Dean totaled 590 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on 34 receptions in 2025 and has special teams experience as well as a kick returner and punt returner.
