Three Big Ten schools are already putting up a fight for Class of 2028 four-star offensive tackle Eytan D'oleo. Penn State football, Rutgers, and Ohio State have all hosted the young lineman for unofficial visits and camps since March.

The last time D'oleo was in Happy Valley was April 16 for a spring practice visit. Head coach Matt Campbell had him return on June 20. While he visited the Scarlet Knights again afterwards, the Nittany Lions made a lasting impression on him.

According to Tyler Calvaruso of Lions247, D'oleo shared that the blue and white are "very high" on his list, noting Penn State's culture and coaching in particular.

D'oleo is ranked No. 318 nationally and No. 32 at offensive tackle from his class right now. The Camden, N.J. native is also ranked No. 45 from his state, per Rivals Industry Ratings.

It's still a tight race to land D'oleo, but Campbell finding and sustaining some sort of leverage is crucial. Rutgers, Penn State, Ohio State, and Syracuse are the current top four teams likely to land him, but it's still very early to determine which one will actually come out on top. D'oleo acquired 22 total offers so far in his recruitment, including others from Auburn, Texas, North Carolina, and Boston College.

The Nittany Lions' offensive line has always been a huge selling point in recruitment. Campbell's 2027 class includes interior offensive linemen Owen Reilly and Jon Sassic as well as offensive tackles David Tarawallie and Ryan Robbins. Tarawallie is the current headliner of Penn State's class and is ranked No. 67 nationally and No. 7 at tackle.

Having a strong offensive line already on the roster with talented players coming in is the perfect case scenario for Campbell's recruiting classes further down the line. D'oleo nodding towards Campbell's culture is another recurring selling point that has landed well with prospects since he got to Penn State.

He also hosted interior offensive lineman Carl Noisette on an unofficial visit. Though D'oleo wasn't surprised by anything from his visit, the same highlights stuck with Noisette. As a first-time visitor, the three-star came out of Happy Valley with the Nittany Lions as his No. 1 choice.

Consistency is key, and Campbell getting to work early in this upcoming cycle can pay off in the end. He currently has two committed 2028 prospects with four-star cornerback Deonte Flemings Jr. and kicker Carter Petri.
