Peter Bourque is one of the last remaining top quarterbacks still uncommitted in the Class of 2027. The four-star is slated to make his decision in a week on Thursday, May 14.

Ahead of his commitment date, Bourque is expected to visit the Nittany Lions as well as two other programs: Georgia and Virginia Tech.

He is the 82nd nationally ranked recruit, per 247Sports Composite and Rivals Industry Rankings, and the seventh-ranked quarterback in the class. Bourque is also the top prospect from Massachusetts.

Per Rivals, Penn State still leads in earning his commitment despite the Bulldogs and Hokies having last-minute visits with him as well. The Nittany Lions have a 69.6 percent chance at landing Bourque.

Head coach Matt Campbell faces former Nittany Lion and current Hokies head coach James Franklin for Bourque.

While in Happy Valley, Franklin extended Bourque a scholarship offer in July 2024. The tulmultuous 2025 disrupted Penn State's plans at landing the four-star passer, as well as many other recruits, but Campbell turned that around.

Once Bourque decommitted from Michigan on Feb. 17, the doors were wide open for Campbell and his staff to pounce on his recruitment.

Unsurprisingly, so did Franklin. Since moving over to Virginia Tech, the former Penn State head coach plucked a number of Class of 2026 recruits from the Nittany Lions. Three-star quarterback Troy Huhn is one of them as well as four-star running back Messiah Mickens.

In 2025, Bourque passed for 2,241 yards and 18 touchdowns on 131 completions. He had a 63.3 completion rate as a junior at Tabor Academy and added an additional 688 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns to his resume.

He is attending the Elite 11 with 19 other top quarterbacks in the nation. Bourque, four-star Colton Nussmeier, and three-stars Dane Weber and Ryan Rakowski are the only players who have not committed to a school. Bourque is the only recruit of those four who Penn State is targeting.
