The last few weekends have been massive for the Penn State football team, they had a lot of very talented players from the 2024 class on campus as the official visit season is underway. As they prepare for the third weekend, more commits begin to make their decision, and safety Vaboue Toure has made his. Toure has committed to Penn State and chose the Nittany Lions over Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Rutgers.

A native of New Jersey Toure is rated as a 4-star prospect according to 247sports. He has a .9117 composite ranking and is rated as the 4th best player from the state of New Jersey in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The Nittany Lions finally have landed a true safety in the 2024 class which currently holds the 7th best recruiting class in the country. Toure is a very special prospect, when you turn on the tape you instantly see his football IQ on display. He often baits the opposing quarterback into making bad decisions by giving the receiver space. But, once this guy gets his hips turned and accelerates he launches towards the ball to make an interception or swat the ball away.

It’s great to see Penn State have success in the state of New Jersey. It’s a state that produces a lot of great prospects but for some reason, it has felt like a closed lid for the Nittany Lions over the years. Now, with the commitment coming from Toure and 2025 commit Jaelyn Matthews, PSU is starting to establish its footing once again in the garden state.

The Nittany Lions sit at 16 total commits and will look to add roughly 25 total prospects in this class, so they have more work to do but it’s clear how important it is for these official visits to take place to seal the deal for the top prospects in this cycle.
