Ohio State is the question mark for me during this upcoming season. They’re going to be good, they always are no matter who is at quarterback but that’s the thing, this is the year where they are breaking in a new quarterback just like Penn State. To me, it feels like this Ohio State quarterback room is the least flashy over the past few years.

Regardless of who wins the job between Kyle McCord and Devin Brown the weapons this team has on the outside with Marvin Harrison Jr, Emeka Egbuka, and Carnell Tate is scary. Last season it felt like it was Ohio State’s pass rush and run game that landed the final blow against Penn State. The Nittany Lions will have to play a clean game on the road and Drew Allar will have to take care of the football if Penn State wants to beat the Buckeyes.

This will only be Drew Allar’s 3rd career road start by this point in the season, and the first two at Illinois and at Northwestern aren’t exactly going to have the same crowd noise or even nerves as his return to his home state of Ohio.

If Drew Allar can deliver like PSU fans hope he can, and the defense can slow down Ohio State’s offense this game has all of the elements to be an all-time classic. To be completely honest I am sick of the moral victories of “at least we played them close.” Let’s face the facts this game is 100% a must-win in 2023.
