The most challenging game of the 2023 season comes in November as the back-to-back Big Ten Champion Michigan Wolverines come to Beaver Stadium. Penn State is not only looking for revenge in this game but they are looking to re-establish themselves as a top team in the Big Ten East by defeating Michigan in 2023.

Last year was simply unacceptable, the run defense was the worst I’ve seen in years and they need to be better prepared for Michigan this season. My favorite part about this game, although Michigan’s offensive line won’t be the same, they do get the pleasure of facing both running backs Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards once again. Those two had a field day against PSU in 2022 which should be added fuel for the Nittany Lions this fall.

This will be the biggest test of the season, and many experts believe that this game could be for the right to play in the 2023 Big Ten Championship on the line which would be incredibly nerve-racking. If Penn State can find a way to contain Michigan’s rushing attack and keep J.J. McCarthy from beating them deep I am confident Penn State will find a way to score points on Michigan’s defense.

The Nittany Lions need to make Michigan respect them again, they can do that by ruining their season and going on to play for a Big Ten Championship in December.
