Penn State Football: 2023 NFL Mock Draft Nittany Lions Edition
Now, we have entered the third and final day of the 2023 NFL draft. This is where we will see an uptick in Penn State football players selected. It starts with the New England Patriots as they use the 107th pick on IOL Juice Scruggs.
By all accounts, after the Penn State football season came to an end and the Nittany Lions who were draft eligible began working on their craft coaches raved about Scruggs. It’s safe to say returning to PSU for the 2022 season paid off in a big way. His time at the center position, and being able to make calls on the offensive line are key strengths that he brings to an NFL team.
The Patriots’ starting center is David Andrews who is 30 years old. He still has a few good years left in him, which is perfect for a guy like Scruggs. If he can make the 53-man roster and stick around as a swing lineman over the first few years of his career. Then, eventually, take over at guard or center that would be ideal for him.
Scruggs feels like a Belichick guy, someone that is incredibly coachable and that doesn’t talk much. Instead, Juice lets his play do the talking and that’s why he will fit into this system.
