Penn State Football: Top 2024 QB Prospect Reveals Top 3 Schools
One of Penn State football’s top 2024 QB prospect released his top three schools on Friday afternoon. Quarterback Michael Van Buren who attends St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland.
He is a 4-star prospect according to 247sports and his final three schools include Oregon, Maryland, and Penn State as he narrows the list down before his commitment date.
The Penn State football team has yet to land a QB in the 2024 class and Van Buren would be a massive addition to this class. Within the past 21 days, the 2024 class has added 5 prospects, while the 2025 class has added one of their own as well.
Currently, Penn State holds the 7th-best 2024 recruiting class with only 10 commits. The average prospect rating is 90.84. There is a long 8 month period before early signing day but so far the Nittany Lions are stacking another huge recruiting class.
Adding a QB like Van Buren would put this class over the top. He alluded on social media to a potential commitment date on July 8th; however, I wonder if he will decide before to that day. As the rest of the top 2024 QB commits begin to choose their school, it does lead to other players organically making their decision as well.
For those of you who have not watched Van Buren play, he throws a beautiful deep ball. He has great touch on the ball and incredible arm strength. What makes him special is his track speed, this guy can take off which is perfect for today’s game of college football.
I’m sure offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich is just dreaming of what he can scheme up with Van Buren at the helm.
Keep in mind that he currently holds crystal balls to Penn State with a confidence level of 6. The crystal balls have been placed by 247’s Brian Dohn and Steve Wiltfong. Van Buren is a very dynamic prospect that would fit in well in Happy Valley.
