Penn State Football has its Quarterback of the present in Drew Allar. The staff now turns its attention to the 2024 class to continue to build for the future.

Penn State Football hit it big in the 2022 recruiting class when it landed five-star Quarterback Drew Allar. After a season of learning behind Sean Clifford, the expectations now rest on the shoulders of the most anticipated Quarterback in Penn State history.

Penn State Football has aspirations of becoming a perennial College Football Playoff contender. To achieve the goals that Head Coach James Franklin has set out, Penn State Football needs to continue to build the Quarterback room year after year.

Ideally, you would like to sign a Quarterback every recruiting cycle and keep that recruit for three-to-five years. With the transfer portal, that is all but impossible.

Penn State Football needs to keep reloading at the Quarterback position and these 2024 recruits are the program’s top options.

The Best in PA Stay in PA

Under Head Coach James Franklin, Penn State Football has made it a priority to get the best players in the state of Pennsylvania to commit to the Nittany Lions. The 2024 recruiting class has two recruits that rank highly on Penn States’ list.

QB Samaj Jones-Philadelphia, PA

Quarterback recruit Samaj Jones is a four-star player from the Philadelphia area that Penn State has historically struggled to make inroads in. Jones has released a top four list that included Penn State, Oklahoma, Cincinnati, and West Virginia.

Samaj Jones is a dual-threat Quarterback that would represent the best runner we have seen since Trace McSorley. Offensive Coordinator Mike Yurcich has proven to have an eye for talent and Jones would not have an offer if the potential wasn’t there.

QB Alex Erby-Harrisburg, PA

Alex Erby is becoming a regular in State College as he has visited campus six times as a recruit. The three-star Quarterback is heavily favored to end up at Penn State currently. Other schools that are in the mix include Maryland, Temple, and in-state Pittsburgh.

Erby has grabbed the attention of the staff at multiple camps and 7-on-7’s. Also of note is that his brother Andrew Erby Jr. has been offered by Penn State as well. The brothers could become a Center-Quarterback battery which is not very common.
