Penn State Football: 3 reasons to be optimistic about the wide receivers in 2023

Penn State Football has used recruiting and the transfer portal to upgrade its wide receiver group for 2023

Penn State Football heads into 2023 with a lot of hype, and even more so after two big transfer portal pickups this week.

With the Nittany Lions losing wide receivers Parker Washington and Mitchell Tinsley to the NFL Draft, they had a big hole on their roster considering Washington and Tinsley were the team’s top two receivers in 2022.

Add in that to-be sophomore Drew Allar is expected to take over at quarterback, Penn State needed to add some veteran experience to the wide receiver room.

The Nittany Lions took care of that need by adding Kent State transfer Dante Cephas and Florida State transfer Malik McClain to the wide out group. With these new additions, along with the returning talent already on the roster, there are plenty of reasons to feel good about a group that looked like a concern only a week ago.
