The 2022-2023 Wrestling season is in full swing so let’s see how the Big Ten is rounding into shape in our latest Power Rankings

Penn State Wrestling and the rest of the Big Ten is headed towards the heart of the conference schedule, meaning it’s time for a power rankings update.

In my early season Big Ten Wrestling Power Rankings I shook up the pecking order considerably when compared to how the teams fared in the prior year. Will the same ring true in the updated rankings?

Let’s find out.

All rankings listed are as of the latest InterMat rankings.

Here we go!

team. 813. . . Previous: 13th. Hoosiers . 14

Dual Rank: NR
Record: 4-0
Ranked Wrestlers: 6
133 No. 31 Henry Porter
141 No. 29 Cayden Rooks
149 No. 30 Graham Rooks
174 No. 14 DJ Washington
197 No. 33 Nick Willham
285 No. 32 Jacob Bullock

We now have a new team occupying the basement in the Big Ten, but the Hoosiers aren’t a bad team. Rather, they are a fairly deep squad with some low-end competitive talent.

Outside of DJ Washington, the other ranked grapplers will be on the fringe of qualifying for the 2023 NCAA Championship depending on how the rest of the season turns out.

So far on the year Indiana has beaten SIUE (26-15), a depleted No. 23 Princeton (22-13), Drexel (29-6), and Binghamton (25-16). So they’re not exactly setting the world on fire hence why I have them dead last.

Congrats?

The Hoosiers will next travel to Reno, Nevada to participate in the Tournament of Champions on December 18th.
