Penn State football and Michigan will meet this Saturday in the biggest game of the Big Ten slate for far this season.

While beating Michigan would be huge for Penn State football on the field, it could help off the field as well.

Penn State currently has the No. 12 recruiting class in the nation for 2023. The class has 20 commits, meaning there should be at least a couple spots remaining. The 2024 class is also starting to get going, with 4-star OL Cooper Cousins committed.

The 5-0 start has the Nittany Lions in the top ten in the AP Poll and a win would put them in the discussion for the College Football Playoff. This would obviously be a big deal for James Franklin as he tries to get his program back on track after an 11-11 record the last two years.

Winning a game of this magnitude could help Penn State football on the recruiting trail as well. We’re going to take a look at the recruiting implications of this game and make the case for and against this game being a big deal for recruiting.
