Second half bold prediction #2 – both Nick Singleton AND Kaytron Allen surpass the current freshman touchdown record

In 2015, Saquon Barkley set a new Penn State Football freshman rushing touchdown record with seven. Four years later in 2019, Noah Cain topped that by rushing for eight touchdowns in his first season in Happy Valley.

Well, it looks like Cain’s record won’t stand for much longer.

Nearing the regular season’s halfway point, Nick Singleton leads the Nittany Lions with five rushing touchdowns (which is also tied for fifth in the Big Ten), and Kaytron Allen has also added three himself.

At this point, it’s essentially a lock that Singleton breaks the record as long as he stays healthy, and he may even break it (or at least tie it) before the calendar even turns to November. He needs just three rushing touchdowns to tie it and four to break it.

Kaytron Allen is what makes this prediction bold. Can he run for at least six touchdowns over the remainder of the season while splitting carries with Singleton? I certainly think he can, which is why I’m predicting that he will; but I think it’s a long enough shot for me to consider this a bold prediction.
