Second half bold prediction #1 – Brenton Strange is a first team All-Big Ten tight end

Through five weeks, Brenton Strange leads all Big Ten tight ends in touchdowns and yards, and is second in receptions. He has been one of the more valuable members of the offense so far, and it seems like Mike Yurcich will continue to utilize him a lot.

Strange’s production is already great as you saw above, despite Penn State having a second half lead in four of five games and not having to go to the air too often. That will probably change as the schedule gets more difficult, and Strange should continue to be a focal point of the offense and put up great numbers.

It he continues on his current pace–which I think he will–he will put himself in great position to be a first team all-conference selection; and that’s exactly what I’m predicting.

Strange would also be the third tight end for Penn State Football to be a first team all-conference selection in the past six seasons, with Mike Gesicki and Pat Freiermuth being the others.
