Must See: Recruits react to Penn State football’s big win
Penn State football’s massive 41-12 victory over Auburn brought out reactions from all over the College Football world on social media.
Not only did Penn State football score a lot of points on Auburn on Saturday, but it also scored some points with recruits.
Winning is one of the easiest, yet most effective recruiting tools out there. If your team looks good, recruits are going to notice.
Dozens of highly touted recruits were in attendance for this game. While most were there to see Auburn, they probably left the stadium thinking more about Penn State. Many more recruits, including most of Penn State’s commits, watched the game on TV as well.
Penn State’s top-rated commit, 5-star OL Alex Birchmeier, seemed impressed with the performance.
Linebacker commit Ta’Mere Robinson had the same thoughts as every Penn State fan after running back Nick Singleton’s monster performance.
For uncommitted targets, wide receiver Karmello English, who we touched on before the game, tweeted “We Are” after the game. The tweet was later deleted as Auburn fans responded in mass. Many of them probably took it as a slight without realizing that Penn State is recruiting the one-time Auburn commit.
Penn State football’s 2023 recruiting class currently ranks No. 12 in the national rankings with 20 commits. If the Nittany Lions continue to play like they did Saturday against Auburn, the class might end on an even higher note.
The coaching staff will certainly use this performance against an SEC blueblood to their advantage on the recruiting trail. The fact that so many young players played pivotal roles for Penn State in this game will also be a huge selling point by the staff.
Even if much doesn’t change in the remainder of the 2023 cycle, Penn State has set itself up nicely for another successful class in 2024.
