Penn State Football: key players for the Nittany Lions against the Auburn Tigers
By Nick Kreiser
Key player on offense – Sean Clifford (QB)
These are the games where your veteran at the most important position on the field needs to step up.
Don’t anticipate Sean Clifford being rattled by the environment in Jordan-Hare Stadium, as it will be the 36th start of his career and has started and won in environments such as Camp Randall and Kinnick Stadium, and also made two starts in a tough environment at Ohio State as well.
He’s played in plenty of big games, and he’s also had plenty of ups and downs throughout his Penn State Football career. Today will need to be one of those ups.
Decision making will be the biggest key for Clifford.
Penn State’s talented pass-catchers can and will get open against the Tigers’ secondary, it’s just a matter of Clifford going through his progressions in a timely manner and delivering an accurate throw to the open target.
A good game out of the Nittany Lions’ sixth-year signal caller will go a long way towards them picking up the win.
