3. Defensive end

The fact that Penn State has the likes of Chop Robinson, Amin Vanover, Dani Dennis-Sutton and multiple other defensive ends for a couple more seasons makes this a little less crucial, but you can never have enough depth.

The Nittany Lions lost one of the prizes of the 2023 over the summer when 4-star defensive end Tomarrion Parker reopened his recruitment and left the class.

Penn State still has a 4-star committed in Jameial Lyons, but he’s now the only defensive end in the class.

There are a few options out there for John Scott Jr. and the rest of the defensive line staff to go after though. We touched on a couple of them last week, most notably Dylan Gooden and Joseph Mupoyi.

There’s even the possibility that current linebacker commit Ta’Mere Robinson may end up at defensive end once he gets to college.

Adding another defensive end to the 2023 class would certainly be nice, but it’s not as critical as say adding another offensive lineman. Regardless, if the staff has the room, go out and find a prospect you like.
