Penn State football is recruiting at a high level but work still remains in the 2023 class.

With 19 current commits, Penn State football’s 2023 recruiting class ranks No. 12 in the national rankings.

The class is a great follow up to the elite 2022 recruiting class, as they two complement each other well. Spots that were a little weak in the 2022 class are strong suits in the 2023 one.

Most fans have put recruiting in the rearview mirror with the season beginning, but it’s still a huge priority for the staff. The Nittany Lions have been relatively quiet on the recruiting front lately. The last commit was quarterback Jaxon Smolik back on Aug. 12.

While it’s unlikely Penn State gets to 25 commits at this point, there’s still a few position that the Nittany Lions could use another player at in this class. The board is getting slim this late in a cycle, but here are five top targets still out there.
